New! Monthly Marketing Toolkit for Louisiana CUs
LCUL is excited to add a new valuable resource to our extensive list of services for member credit unions. Distributed monthly, our new 'Pre-Fab Marketing Toolkit' provides timely, basic, and ready-to-go content to help increase engagement with your members via your  communication channels (newsletters, websites, blogs, social media, etc).

Each issue will feature a different topic related to the financial industry along with resources that can help media representatives develop stories, such as quotes from insiders, consumer video interviews and links to relevant sources.

The toolkit is also helpful in generating leads with your local media. To help maximize this resource, reach out to Lacey H. Weaver, VP of Communications & Public Relations.

CFPB Releases Strategic Plan
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) today released its five-year Strategic Plan that establishes its mission, strategic goals, and strategic objectives.

"If there is one way to summarize the strategic changes occurring at the Bureau, it is this: we have committed to fulfill the Bureau's statutory responsibilities, but go no further," said Acting Director Mick Mulvaney. "By hewing to the statute, this Strategic Plan provides the Bureau a ready roadmap, a touchstone with a fixed meaning that should serve as a bulwark against the misuse of our unparalleled powers."

Pelican State CU Invests in Prairieville's Financial Wellness
As part of its commitment to the financial wellness of Prairieville residents, Pelican State Credit Union hosted a free workshop on understanding credit reports and scores on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at the Oak Grove Community Center.

Pelican's Nationally Certified Credit Counselor April Gomez shared her knowledge of credit reports and scores at this workshop. Attendees learned why a strong score is important and received tips for improving it!

Printed copies of Pelican's free eBook, " 40 Ways to Save When You're Terrible at Saving ," were also available to all attendees.
