Intentional Witness

Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr., Lady Tiffany E. Grant King, and the Memorial Tabernacle Family welcome you to our worship services.  We invite you to become a part of a growing ministry that is "reaching to teach, teaching to change" one person and one block at a time.   We pray you will enjoy the service and worship again with us.

Our Mission...
The Memorial Tabernacle Church has come together by the Holy Spirit for the specific purpose of preaching and teaching the word of God, (the Bible), and about Jesus Christ, God's son, and to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the North Oakland Community and its environs; to bring healing to the brokenhearted and deliverance to the oppressed.
Notes On Sunday's Sermon

"CHARGED TO BE RECHARGED: STIR UP LOVE!" (Hebrews 10:23-25

Now, there is a man in the New Testament who had a particular reputation for encouragement. His parents named him Joseph, but the leaders of the early church called him Barnabas, which literally meant "Son of Encouragement" (Acts 4:36).

Barnabas was a man who believed in the potenti al of people, particularly those whom others were cautious or suspicious of. Barnabas was willing to give a failure a second chance, and because of his predisposition towards encouraging people the leaders of the early church gave him the nickname, "Son of Encouragement."

Beloved, I believe you and I are called to be like Barnabas. To be a Barnabas towards others allowing relationship to flourish. Now, the root meaning of the word "encourage" simply means, "to put courage into." It means the imputing or infusion of power, advice, or inspiration in order to allow another person to be better, to be recharged.

There are times for each of us when our battery runs down. Encouragement means coming alongside and inputting courage, perspective, or attitudes that helps others get up and get going again.

Because of Chri st,

Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr.

Ne ver Goodbye: Appreciating the Moses Family

As the Moses Family reminded us, they will always be members of Memorial Tabernacle. They are not leaving; they are only taking the spiritual nurturing and development gained at Memorial Tabernacle into a different mission field (Matthew 28:19-20). We pray for their safe travels as they travel to Fairburn, GA this weekend!  To the Moses Family, we say, "See ya soon!"
