Golf Course Update from Martin McGavock Superintendend
I am just back to Baku from the San Antonio where I attended the GIS annual trade show. With over 4000 delegates and suppliers it was a great opportunity to network with colleagues and to see all the latest machinery, products and innovations being launched in the golf maintenance industry. I was also able to take part in multiple educational seminars continuing in my drive for professional development as I embark on the path to becoming a certified golf course superintendent, an accolade of which is achieved by very few superintendents internationally.
Meanwhile back on course at Dreamland and work continues on from January adding in some of additional tasks as we move through February. We are pleased to see foundations are currently being put in place between holes 10 and 17 to complete the border around this area and establish the wall connecting the villa perimeters.
The Island between lake 18 and 10 has been on our sights for a while, being a feature that really hadn’t been made the most of when constructed we are now clearing the island (no easy task as rafts required to haul material) to make way for landscaping that will create a more atheistically pleasing feature of the island, while at the same time keeping the maintenance as low as possible due to the issue of access!
Thank you to all our Valentine's Day sponsors.
It promises to be a great day!
