"C" During Change
What is a "C"?   Conscientious
      Change - Seeks Written Justification
  "C" Reacting to Change
What to expect
Seeks written procedures
Requires accurate facts
Weighs change against established standards
Prefers time to analyze and critique

Example
Speaker
"We are promoting Elsa to Senior Advisor; she will be joining you, working on the Acme project."

"C" Response
"What are her credentials? Do you know for a fact that she knows our procedures?"

Example
Speaker
"Initially, our hiring calculations were based on 3 offices and, to date, we have 5, with plans to open another office by the end of the year. I think a reassessment within two weeks should occur so we are adequately staffed. Please see the attached criterion that was previously used for determining projections."

"C" Response
"I will prepare a complete cost analysis taking into consideration the current trend of growth. This will provide a more comprehensive report that will in turn lead to more accurate planning projections. I will evaluate the current project load my department has and let you know by tomorrow if your two week request is reasonable".
   Telling the "C"  the Change

3. Provide information to "C" prior to your meeting.
4. Be prepared for critique of data.
5. Structure your communication in a logical and linear format.
6. Incorporate validated supporting studies.

Example
Speaker
"Based on what I have read, research indicates it would be seriously prudent to consider product #018, because of its consistently superior filter system. Please see attached report. What findings do you have to approve or disapprove the launching of such a different type of product?"

"C" Response
"I have done considerable analysis already on this potential product. I will review your information next week and provide you with a detailed analysis of the pros and cons."
