ASH WEDNESDAY
Service at 7:15 pm
We enter the season of Lent, a time set aside for spiritual renewal, on February 14. The Ash Wednesday service, with its focus on confession and imposition of ashes, reminds us of our human limitations and need for God’s work in our lives, The 40 days of Lent follow, with short midweek services each Wednesday at 7:15 pm. Join us for your Lenten journey beginning TONIGHT!

Lent for You
The season of Lent may be the most emotionally charged season in the Christian year: from the somberness of Ash Wednesday to the exhilaration of Palm Sunday to the darkness of Good Friday. It is a forty-day journey . . . Read more
Yes, and . . .
We have planned several Yes, and… social events. These are an opportunity for you to get together with members and friends of Atonement to get together to enjoy friendship and faith and to talk about the future. These “Tell the Story Events” are completely free! We encourage you to attend one or more of these events to help you make an informed and faithful decision as you participate in the appeal.

This Sunday, we’ll be serving an Egg Harbor breakfast in the Atonement Fellowship Hall at 10:30 and at noon. Please register for you and your family today if you plan to attend so we can make sure we order the right amount of food for everyone!

Next week , join us for a Blackhawks Hockey Night and/or Friday After Work at McGonigal’s with music by our very own Mike Offutt and Karl Rosenberg.

Please CLICK HERE to learn more about all the events and to register to participate. Contact Anthony Crissie at 847-531-0512 or Jennie Kramer at 847-209-2756 with questions.

Each week during the Yes, and… Capital Appeal we are sharing video clips of stories from members and friends of the Atonement. We asked several people to talk about their “yes, and…” experiences at Atonement. When have they experienced a “yes” from God and how did they respond? When did a “yes” to serve at Atonement result in surprising outcome? If you haven’t seen the previous clips, check them out on the website. This week we know you’ll enjoy watching Cindy Malin’s response!
After watching the video, we encourage you to think about your own “yes, and…” stories.
Spend Time with God this Lent Through the Spiritual Practice of Self Examination
Deepen your relationship with God by exploring spiritual practices of the Christian faith by taking the class the 'Practice of Self-Examination” led by Tami Pringle on Sunday, March 4th at 9:15-10:30 am and again at 10:30 am in the JAM room. Then experience practicing Self-Examination at facilitated sessions on March 11, 18, & 25 at 9:15 am and 10:30 am in the Meditation Room.
Meals on Wheels
Atonement is responsible for providing 3 drivers, two days a month, to deliver meals for Barrington Area Counsel on Aging. We are currently short a few drivers, can you help us out one day a month? Meals are picked up in the village and delivered throughout Barrington. The entire commitment is about an hour of your time. It is a wonderful way to serve our neighbors. Please contact me for more information or any questions. Paula Herrmann
