The Rochester Opera House presents All-Star Summer Comedy Showcase

The Rochester Opera House will debut their 2017 All-Star Comedy Showcase on Saturday, June 17 with NH-native Juston McKinney, and it will continue through August. Juston has two Comedy Central Specials including his own one-hour special and multiple appearances on the Tonight Show, and Conan O'Brien, but there's no place like home! When NH magazine named him "Best of NH" they wrote, "NH may have more famous comedians than you can shake a stick at (Sarah Silverman & Adam Sandler) but no one really gets New Hampshire humor like Juston McKinney.

Defending the Frontier at the Wentworth House
June 17-18, 10am-4pm
Colonel Paul Wentworth House, Water Street, Rollinsford
In March 1690, a sudden attack by French and Native American raiders devastated the English settlement along the Salmon Falls River in what is now South Berwick, Maine. As the English, French and Native Americans all struggled for control of New England in the late 1600s, English colonists in the Piscataqua region lived under constant threat of attack. To demonstrate how English colonists defended their homes, historical re-enactors portraying Benjamin Church's Company of rangers will be encamped at Rollinsford's historic Colonel Paul Wentworth House on Saturday and Sunday, June 17 and 18. Considered by some to be the forerunner of today's US Army Rangers, Benjamin Church's Company was organized to defend English frontier settlements and used fighting tactics learned from Native Americans to carry out offensive strikes against the French and hostile Indians. In addition to displays and demonstrations of military equipment and tactics, demonstrations of early American home life and crafts will be offered from 10 am to 4 pm on both days, along with tours of the house. A donation of $5 is suggested for adults; the event is free to children and ARCH members. Visit

Thunderama Vintage Car Show & Seacoast Dock Dogs Competition

This will be the sixth year that the NEVT has held their show at the beautiful and picturesque farm. Showcasing all kinds of antique vehicles, hot rods, custom cars, and trucks from 9am to 2pm. Any and all vehicles are welcome. Fun for the entire family. After you check out all the cars you can go watch the dogs compete for the 2nd day in a row. Spectator admission is $5 per person, children 12 and under get in free.

Gundalow Piscataqua is coming to Dover

The Gundalow Company operates their gundalow PISCATAQUA throughout the Piscataqua Region and takes over 8,000 students and member of the public out on the water every year. For 250 years, gundalows were the work-horses of the region. These flat-bottomed sailing barges hauled brick, wood, hay and other cargo up and down the rivers. This year Dover is celebrating the installation of the gundalow the CAPTAIN EDWARD ADAMS at Henry Law Park and the Gundalow Company invites you to celebrate by joining them on the water for a sail.

Kids in preschool through grade 6 will track their reading and listening time over the summer. For every hour that you read or listen, you will get a Lego piece to add to our growing structure. eens earn raffle tickets for reading, the more you read the better chance you have of winning a prize. Choose where to deposit your raffle tickets from among 10 special prize packs on display.

July 17-21: For grades 4-8, a fun "indoor" camp that promotes reading, writing, vocabulary, math, collaborative learning and creativity. AITs will work with Author/Publisher Layne Case, owner of AMITY Publications, in writing and "publishing" a children's book.
July 24-28: For grades 1-3, a writing program that will help children improve reading, writing, math, vocabulary, collaborative learning and creativity skills. Children's Author and Publisher Layne Case, owner of AMITY Publications, will guide AITs through the steps needed to become a published author.
