June 2017
Community Support
Thank you to the team at Consumers Energy for their long-standing support of United Way. Consumers Energy employees Kelley Peatross and Michelle Mitchell presented United Way board chair, Herb Spence with their $24,000 corporate gift at the May board meeting.
The 12th Annual Bee for Literacy Adult Spelling Bee was another success thanks to hosts Altrusa International of Saginaw and Rotary Club of Saginaw.

The event was such a success that the proceeds of $2,890 were presented at the May board meeting to help support the Lexia and Imagination Library programs. Thank you to Bethany Jacques from Altrusa for being there to present the check to United Way board chair, Herb Spence and staff member, Kayla Petz.

The Leadership Saginaw Class of 2017 wanted a special way to thank their program leader Veronica Horn. The class decided to take a group collection and instead of purchasing a gift, they donated the money to Imagination Library in h ono r of Veronica's grandchildren, Liam and Zellie.

Thanks to their
donation of $550, nearl y 20 kids will now be able to receive one free book, each month, for a year through the Imagination Library program.
