Providence students are now enjoying their summer break!

DEAR FRIENDS:

Your support has made a tremendous impact in the lives of faculty and students! We are thankful for another completed year at Providence, and we wanted you to share in our joy regarding the progress we have made together.

  • 2017 - BACCALAUREATE & GRADUATION - Our first Baccalaureate and Graduation Ceremony is now history, and it is with great joy that we can announce the graduation of Luke Edwards Anderson and Rachel Elaine Johnson. Many hands joined together, as our students and teachers coordinated the transformation of the Chapel for our service. It was so kind of so many of you to attend, and it certainly was an encouragement to hear our graduates speak! You can already find many pictures from the event on our Facebook page, and we will soon upload others to our school website.
  • FACULTY FAREWELLS
    -  On behalf of the Board of Directors and Faculty, we wish to express our deep gratitude and blessings for our friends--
Mrs. Nancy Peckman and Mr. Michael Chace. Both will not return for the 2017-18 school year. We have been so blessed by the faithful and extraordinary service of Mr. Chace and Mrs. Peckman in our founding years and wish them all the best as they enjoy time with grandchildren and service in different capacities. Grace and Michael Chace are moving to be near their grandchildren, and both will be employed in a Christian school setting in Houston, Texas. Thank you, Mrs. Peckman and Mr. Chace, for all you have done for our Lord at Providence.
  • RETURNING FACULTY ROLES -
Mrs. Wanda Johnson will be promoted to full-time teacher for the Early Elementary grades. Mr. Garner is looking forward to providing added instruction and planning in the Combination Class, while continuing his work with high school students. Mrs. Barbara Clark will continue as Librarian and ongoing tutorial support in the Combination Class.
Mrs. Hussack (tutorial and class support), Mr. Hussack (Physical Ed.), Mrs. Fitzpatrick (Art), and Mr. Raber (Providence 360) will all return in their respective roles.
  • VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED  - We recognize our need for classroom and office support as we look to take our next important steps in the life of Providence Christian Academy. The process requires background checks and a short application, but the benefits for the school could be tremendous. Perhaps you would be willing to be a tutor, classroom helper, or library helper. Perhaps you could lend your expertise to the school. Call me at (717) 298-8090 to discuss how you could change lives with your available time and talent.
  • SUMMER BREAK  - Although the office will be open on most weekdays over the summer, it is best to call (717) 298-8090 prior to visiting.
  • PROVIDENCE 360
Our most recent events in this unique curricular approach include:
    • Tuesday, May 2nd - Shook Home Visit and Presentation
    • Thursday, May 11th - Renfrew Park - Historical Enrichment

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

Again, many praises to God for the blessed  Commencement and Baccalaureate Celebration in the Scotland Campus Chapel on June 2, 2017. We have our first graduates - Rachel Johnson and Luke Anderson! Mr. Garner preached the sermon from Exodus 14, and the seniors delivered articulate speeches. Each father prayed for their graduate, while mothers presented diplomas in a moving and memorable service. Soli Deo Gloria
Thank you, FRIENDS of PROVIDENCE!  We will do our best to keep you informed of God's work through His people at Providence. Thank you for giving your time, wisdom, and treasure to glorify God in this work for vulnerable children and their families. Enjoy your break!

Sincerely,
