Summer Services Begin

Relax with Stories of Dad and Summer

Susan & Larry Greenberg

Rev. Peggy Clarke will talk about her sabbatical on Zoom! Instead of coming to the building, everyone is welcome to join in online. If you tell her you're coming, she'll send you an invitation to join the meeting. It will be on Wednesday, June 28 from 7-8 pm.
Childcare for Summer Services

We are delighted to offer childcare during summer worship services for babies through early elementary age children.  Our thanks to Brenda Caronia, the childcare director, for making sure each Sunday is covered with two caregivers.  Laurie Schneider will be there every Sunday, joined by either Aimee Haas or a member of the youth group.

Families, come enjoy summer worship!
Children are welcome in the worship service or in childcare.  Children who attend worship are welcome to take a quiet activity packet with them, which you will find under the window of the administrative office.

IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO VOLUNTEER
AT THE UU BOOTH AT CLEARWATER'S GREAT HUDSON RIVER REVIVAL
This Saturday, June 17 & Sunday, June 18 at Croton Point Park

Don't miss an opportunity to hear some great music on the banks of the mighty Hudson River!
The UU congregations of Westchester are banding together to host a table at the festival, as we did at the 2015 festival.   We are looking for some volunteers to 'table' with the other UU's and share information about FUSW. This is a terrific way to spread the word and encourage new folks to join us!
A ticket has been purchased to share with each person during their volunteer time slot.
If you can do a 2 hour gig, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 8:30 PM on Saturday or Sunday, please email Sara Kelsey at [email protected] or call Sara at 646-303-1448.
Midnight Run - Friday, June 23 7PM

Join us in preparing and delivering meals, clothing, toiletries, and conversation to hungry persons in Manhattan. We start at FUSW at 7PM with packing brown bagged meals and sorting clothing and toiletries. Then we head out to NYC to serve hot soup, food and hospitality. Volunteers and donations of supplies are always welcome. Please contact Arthur Lowenstein at [email protected] for what is still needed and with any questions.

Our next run is a Midnight Run on Friday, Aug 13 7PM. Save the date!

FUSW Notices

As many of you know, my last day working for FUSW is this Friday, June 16 and at this time, I would like to thank the congregation in giving me the opportunity to be part of the FUSW family. It's been a pleasure working here and getting to know many of the wonderful congregants.  I will surely miss you.  Have a Wonderful Summer!  Rita Ruotolo

GET SOMETHING FOR FREE-OR GIVE SOMETHING AWAY

We're debuting a new service; one meant to share resources, increase recycling, build community, save us money individually, and raise money for our congregation. It's simple: if you have something in great condition, and you no longer need it and want to help it find a new home, email a one- or two-sentence description, along with a photo of the item, to Marin Shunick: [email protected] .   READ ON....

TICK SEASON IS HERE!

Be Tick Aware!

We have many lovely deer on our property here at FUSW.  They are fun to see, but they also bring deer ticks, the carrier of Lyme Disease.   Click here to  read on to educate yourself about preventing tick bites...

Join the First Unitarian Society of Westchester
Facebook group!
The First Unitarian Society of Westchester is a Facebook group for members and friends to share with the FUSW community at large. We hope this space is a dynamic environment to invite quick response and information sharing about our community.
We want to remind everyone that posts shared in this group are not reflective of the staff or stance of FUSW unless posted from the website or other FUSW sources. Much like congregational reflection, these posts reflect the voices of the individuals who post here. And much like congregational reflection, we ask that you think about the diversity of our community, including political, religious, racial, or other differences, before posting, and respect the voices of those who post here.  We want to continue to create an inclusive community online as well as in person.
