A Message from the Camp Manager
Summer camp is a place where kiddos can be wild and free.
"Yooper" in 3rd grade at camp in Michigan
It's a place where girls can grow courage by making new friends and facing their fears. Where girls gain confidence while they work their way across the low ropes challenge course. Summer camp becomes the experience that girls look back at years later and realize all that they really learned and how that helped create their strong, fearless character.

When I turned eight years old, I was old enough to attend sleep away camp. I learned about the animals that lived in the tall pine trees and how to face my fears of sailing. I met new friends and gained confidence in myself by singing camp songs as loud as I could... maybe that's why I'm so loud today! I looked forward to attending camp more than I thought about Christmas. I hated the fear of not  being able to attend the place I was happiest at because my family couldn't afford it. Camp was a place where I didn't worry about whether I was wearing name brand clothing or if my lunch looked different than eve ryone else's. It was a place I also didn't have to listen to my parents argue about money or other adult issues. I strongly feel that if it wasn't for the scholarships I was awarded to attend camp, I wouldn't be a Camp Manager today. Camp was (and still is) my happy place.

Girl Scouts is a place where all girls are welcomed and told that they can be anything they want to be and do anything they want to do. GSSSC strongly believes that every girl deserves to experience camp. Campership (scholarship) money is still available for girls to attend Camp Ta-Man-A-Wis or Camp Alice Pittenger for the summer of 2017. Let's help girls experience all that camp offers!

Hope to see you there,
