Opportunities for Reflection
Lent and Easter 2018 at Christ Church

 
As a Lenten and Easter practices, Episcopalians around the world are invited to read the Gospel According Luke during Lent, and The Acts of the Apostles in Eastertide (See: Presiding Bishop Curry video: Invitation to the Good Book Club). (check out the video below) Reading and reflecting on the scriptures is a great way to unplug and nurture your heart, soul, and mind.
 
The National Episcopal Church, the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, and Christ Church offer the following options to support you in this practice.
 
The Good Book Club

The Rev. Emily Guthrie will be hosting a weekly weekday Bible study on Wednesdays, 11:30 -12:30pm in the library, beginning Feb 21. Sign up: [email protected].

Jim Kennedy will be hosting a weekly evening Bible study on Thursdays at 7:00 pm starting 2/15/18. Contact Jim at:  [email protected]

These Bible studies will use the Good Book Club curriculum as their starting point.  The curriculum is available at www.goodbookclub.org.  If you need a copy and can't download, please contact the office. If you are not able to join one of these groups, you are invited to start your own or use the curriculum on your own!
 
The Bible Challenge:  A Journey with Luke during Lent
and a Journey through Acts during Easter

The Bible Challenge is a series of books to assist participants in daily engagement with scripture.  The books for Lent and Easter are available at this these links: A Journey with Luke and A Journey through Acts and are also available on the Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, and at the iTunes store.
 
Forward Day by Day

Readers of Forward Day by Day can easily follow along, with Luke and Acts guided by the reflections during Lent-Easter 2018.  Hard copies of Forward Day by Day are available on tables at Christ Church or you may subscribe to hard copy or email delivery by clicking here.
