We hope to see you Sunday!
Transfiguration Sunday

The Sundays after Epiphany began with Jesus’ baptism and end with three disciples’ vision of his transfiguration. In Mark’s story of Jesus’ baptism, apparently only Jesus sees the Spirit descending and hears the words from heaven. But now Jesus’ three closest friends hear the same words naming him God’s beloved son. As believers, Paul writes, we are enabled to see the God-light in Jesus’ face, because the same God who created light in the first place has shone in our hearts to give us that vision. The light of God’s glory in Jesus has enlightened us through baptism and shines in us also for others to see.

Altar Guild, Team Leaders and Ushers are encouraged to attend.
Ash Wednesday on February 14
Drive Up Ashes from 11am-1pm.
Worship at 7:00pm
This year Valentine’s Day, is also Ash Wednesday.

Two things that seem so...opposite.

But we know that God is found in the opposite.
God gives pardon through confession.
Empowerment through surrender.
In emptiness, God fills.
In devastation, hope.
God walks with the lonely.
And when the world turns in on itself, God turns us back to what's important: God and our neighbors.
Even from the grave, God brings forth life.

Yes it may seem like an odd pairing, but maybe Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day really do belong together. For when we receive a cross on our forehead, we are reminded of God's love.
It was once said,
"If you do not change direction,
you may end up where you are heading."

The season of Lent is a perfect time to make sure your path matches God's direction. For more information about our Midweek Lenten series as well as our Soup Suppers, click here.
Lenten Discipleship
We are Christians on a mission, even in the season of Lent. But how do we go about being God's people at home and in the world?

The short, daily devotions in this booklet highlight the concepts of being sent, demonstrating faith in action, and being mission-minded each day of Lent. Suggested activities are associated with preparing our hearts, souls and minds to reflect on the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ and his mission for us.

Pick up your FREE copy of this booklet the next time you are in the Narthex at church!
