SUPPORTS FOR FAMILY CAREGIVERS

The Covenant Health Network of Excellence in Seniors' Health and Wellness recently revised their Inventory of Resources and Supports for Caregivers in Alberta. This resource provides family caregivers with easy access to information on care and supports to help them maintain their own health and well-being as caregivers.
RESOLVING BOARD CHAIR - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR CONFLICT

Respectful discourse, differences of opinion, and disparate points of view can foster creativity, forward movement, and blue-sky thinking. This podcast by Vantage Point discusses recognizing when a conflict has crossed a line and is disruptive, discouraging, and even toxic and outlines key actions for reaching a positive resolution.

SILVER SKATE FESTIVAL

Over 50 courses in science, music, art, global affairs, computers, finance, wellness and fitness courses are all being offered at this year's Spring Session. Enjoy lively discussion, meet new people and learn in a comfortable and friendly environment.

Courses have no prerequisites, no homework and no exams and take place at the University of Alberta. The registration fee is $250 for the full three weeks and bursaries of $175 are available if financial assistance is needed.

The word doula (pronounced "doo-la") is a Greek word meaning "'woman servant or caregiver". More often, it refers to someone who offers emotional and physical support to a woman and her partner before, during and after childbirth. Recently, there has been an emerging demand for support through declining health and independence from people other than pregnant mothers. Join a certified End of Life Doula as she talks about its emerging role and the support, resources, education and friendship that she offers individuals and families.
