February Giving Items
Giving items for the month of February
are canned soup with meat for the J Street Apartment Panty. Your donations may be left at the back entrance near the Welcome Center. Thank you for your generosity.

God Loves You
 February 14th is Valentine's Day, Youth Night, and Ash Wednesday. Please join us for a lasagna dinner at 6:00 p.m. followed by our Ash Wednesday Service at 7:00 p.m. A free will offering will be accepted. If you would like to help prepare the dinner, please meet at the church at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13th. If you would be willing to bring bars for the meal, please have them at the church by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14th. If you have any question, contact Ann Uthoff or Carol Crisman. |

Become Involved as a Worship Servant
 Communion is an act of Christian worship in which bread and juice are consecrated and shared publicly, as a family, but also intimately, with each of us and Jesus. At Shueyville UMC we offer Communion once a month at each service. The Worship Team is putting together a schedule for serving Communion in the next few months. We have volunteers who prepare the elements (bread and juice), and we are asking for those who would be willing to help serve the bread and juice at each service. Instructions will be provided. Helping to serve Communion is a way to get involved in an important way without a big commitment of time. If you would be interested/willing/honored to help serve Communion anytime in the next few months, please contact Carol Crisman.

Youth Mission Trip Fundraisers
 Scratch Cupcakes
Exit X youth are currently taking orders for Scratch Cupcakes. Orders will be taken through February 9th and are expected to be delivered on March 3rd. There are many varieties to choose from, vegan included. For more information contact Mike Jones.
Pizza Fellowship Night
Join us Wednesday, February 21st, 5:30 - 8:00 for a night of fellowship and dinner sponsored by Maddi B's Pizza. In addition to dinner, there will be door prizes, a silent auction and a band for your entertainment. We are fortunate to have Kava House, Ironside Apparel, Metro
Harley Davidson and Sparrows A Penny providing the door prizes. Carry outs will also be available and more information will be coming soon.

Audio Visual Training
 SUMC has recently upgraded our audio/visual equipment and will provide training on how to use it Saturday, February 10th at 10:00 a.m. It is required that anyone using this equipment must take this training. If you cannot attend at this time, please contact Mike Jones to set up a training.

Come make a little Valentine Basket perfect for one secret note or one small blossom. Make one for your friend, your sweetheart, or just yourself, cause everyone needs a little love in the cold of February. Don't feel crafty, settle in for a little conversation over the jigsaw puzzle.

Coordinating Our Building Use
Are you needing a place at the church for a committee meeting or event? Please note that ALL scheduling of the building's use must be cleared and scheduled through Julie in the church office. This is not a "permission" issue, but we do need this central location for keeping track of the building's activities (we are thankful to be able to host a growing number of Boy and Girl Scouts this year!).
