Pray for the Nations
February: Wales
Prayer Requests:
  • Pray for bold faith and witness by the remnant of believers among the many small dying churches.
  • Pray for the Holy Spirit's fire among the mostly faithless youth, igniting a new great Welsh revival.
  • Pray for renewed energy and wisdom for those already at work among growing pockets of believers.

Summer Camp Opportunities at Heritage throughout June and July
Thinking about how to keep the kids from getting bored this summer? Check out the camps being offered at Heritage in June and July. Whether your child is interested in art, drama, board games, or technology, we have
something for you. We encourage you to register your child soon as space is limited for these camps. All registrations and payments for the art, drama, and board games camps (checks payable to Heritage Christian School) must be received by May 15th by contacting the office at 319-626-4777. To register for the Minecraft Mod Exploration and Creation, click here. Your child will need to provide their own lunch for each of these camps.

Purchase your EFE tickets now!
EFE is quickly approaching! You won't want to miss this annual fundraiser on Friday, March 2. It's a great opportunity to invite others to get a glimpse of what Heritage is all about, hear from a dynamic speaker, Megan Fate Marshman, and support Christian education in our community. We have had lots of great donations for our Silent Auction that begins at 5pm. Like Heritage on Facebook and get a sneak peak of several of those exciting donations. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by clicking here. Don't delay and purchase your tickets today!
No After School Care on Friday, March 2
There will be NO AFTER SCHOOL CARE from 3:30 to 5:30pm on Friday, March 2, 2018. This will allow our After School staff (and all of you) enough time to prepare and get to Bella Sala for our Educating for Eternity Event that evening. Pre-K after school will still take place until 3:30pm that day. This will only affect those in after care beginning at 3:30pm.

A message from the Johnson County Dept of Health
Johnson County is sending out some information to the community regarding the current influenza situation. Although we have not experienced many cases at Heritage, you probably have heard that influenza is hitting hard this year. Please click here to read a letter from the Johnson County Department of Health aimed at families of school aged children.
Association Membership
The Iowa City Area Christian School Association (ICACSA) plays a crucial role in the ongoing ministry of the school. Those interested in being an active voting member of the Association must support Heritage Christian School's bylaws, which include the school's Statement of Faith, and must sign the Association membership form. In addition, members must pay annual dues of $5. If you would like to become a voting member and commit to being a regular attender at the meetings, held twice each year, please stop by the office to fill out the form and pay the dues. All current memberships expire February 1, 2018, so if you'd like to renew your membership, please do so now.
Game Update:
The 7/8th Eagles traveled to Williamsburg on Tuesday, February 7th to play the Lutheran Interparish Panthers. The Panthers held a 9 point lead during the first half, but the Eagles fought back within 3 points by the end of the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter was hard fought by both teams with the Eagles taking the lead. With ten seconds left on the clock, the Eagles were up 43-42 when the Panthers made a fast break bucket. Little time was left to give the Eagles a chance to get down the court. The Eagles fell to the Panthers 44-43. Leading scorers were Adu Habte with 15 points, Kaleb Turnbough and Sam Young with 9 points, and Hunter Schau with 7 points. The Eagles travel to Cedar Rapids Thursday, Feb 9th to play their final game against INCA on the Patriots home court.

Futsal Tournament:
March 3rd we have been invited to a "Futsal Tournament" at Isaac Newton in Cedar Rapids.  Futsal is an indoor soccer game.  Right now we are trying to determine  if we have enough interest and commitment to sign a 5/6 team and a 7/8 team.  Both girls and boys are invited, in fact each team has to have at least one girl on it.  It your son or daughter is interested and can be at Isaac Newton on March 3rd please respond to keelc@hcs-nl.com  by WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15th.  More details will be sent to those who respond.  The cost is $75 per team and the teams consist of 6 players, so for each player it would cost $12.50.
