Studio Plaza Construction to Temporarily Close Mayor Lane

On or about the first week of July, contractors will begin closing segments of Mayor lane in order to accommodate necessary construction. Work, which is expected to last approximately six months, will be done in 10 ft. to 15 ft. intervals leaving the road open on either side for deliveries and other services. The contractor has notified nearby businesses that flaggers will be stationed on either side of the segment under construction in case vehicles need to cross during working hours. Within 15 minutes of a vehicle arriving to cross the blocked section, crews will plate the area so that the driver can pass. However, during about three weeks in the initial phase of the project, the northern portion of Mayor Lane will not be passable. Crews need to remove an existing 15 ft. wide abandoned precast concrete structure beneath the road and back fill the the area. Because of the size of the structure, it is not possible for crews to use steel plates to provide a right of way. Flaggers will be on hand to facilitate deliveries. The developer has contacted nearby and affected businesses. Members who have questions may contact Jane Redicker in the Chamber office.
