DNT Main Lanes and Multiple Ramps to Close June 16-19 in Plano

Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, June 16, crews will begin a full shutdown of the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) between Spring Creek Parkway and the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT), including the direct-connector ramps from the SRT to the southbound DNT and the northbound DNT to the SRT. Law enforcement will assist with the closing and will be stationed at entrance ramps to prevent drivers from entering the construction area. This work is dependent on weather and may be postponed, if necessary.

During this closure , crews will set beams to build a new U-turn bridge at Legacy Drive and complete other construction work on the project to widen the Tollway. The DNT will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Monday, June 19.

Legacy Drive will remain open to traffic during the Tollway closure.

After NTTA completes its work in the area, the City of Plano will convert the original U-turn to a pedestrian walkway in that highly developed business and entertainment area. Click the picture above to see what will be happening there.

President George Bush Turnpike Widening Project to Begin June 19

Crews are scheduled to begin work next Monday to add a fourth lane in each direction on the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) between U.S. 75 and State Highway 78. The new lanes will be built in the center median. Drivers should expect overnight lane closures while the project is underway. The fourth lanes are expected to open to traffic in early 2019.

Widening work on the PGBT between the DNT and Interstate 35E is expected to begin in early July.

Get a sneak peek into what the Bush Turnpike will look like after the fourth lane is added between the DNT and I-35E. Two animated versions of the video are available, a driver's view  and an aerial view .

These projects are part of our ongoing efforts to meet the growing traffic demands on our roads. For more information on this and other improvement projects, visit ProgressNTTA.org, email [email protected] or call 972-628-3134.
Please Slow Down!  Reduced Speed Limits in Work Zones Along the Tollway

Work is underway on the DNT between Harvest Hill Road (south of I-635) and I-35E for proactive maintenance. Construction also continues on the Tollway between the SRT and I-635 to add a fourth lane northbound from Trinity Mills Road to the SRT and southbound from the SRT to the Belt Line Road exit. While construction progresses, safety remains a high priority for us. Please remember to slow down in work zones.

The Tollway's speed limit is reduced to 55 mph between Harvest Hill Road and I-35E and between Frankford and Belt Line Roads. The speed limit between the SRT and Frankford Road is lowered to 60 mph. The lowered speed limits help keep crews and drivers safe. The reduced speed limits are being enforced by public safety officers and will remain in place until construction is complete.

We appreciate your patience during construction.
