MEM Webinar on Agile Management
Join a Conversation with Jay Goldstein on June 7

Join Jay Goldstein, MEM Industry Advisory Board member and founder of Jabbok River Group, a Chicago-based Agile training and coaching consultancy, for a webinar discussion on Wednesday, June 7 from Noon - 1:00 PM
The webinar will discuss how leading companies get beyond the rigidities of traditional management and acquire the breakthrough capabilities involved in making the entire organization agile.  Based on the five shifts necessary for an agile transformation, you will get an introduction on how to implement the elements of radical management as an integrated whole so as to get extraordinary results for your or ganization, your customers and your workforce.

The event is also just one example of the way Northwestern's MEM program prepares its students and alumni to stay abreast of timely and emerging topics in the field of engineering management - we also encourage you to invite a colleague!
New Faculty Introduction: Birju Shah
New Course MEM490: Product Management Coming in Fall Quarter

Birju Shah is joining MEM program with a new course,  MEM490: Product Management , opening in the Fall 2017.  Graduating from Northwestern University with a bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering/Economics and a MBA degree from Sloan School of Management at MIT, Birju is currently a Group Product Manager at The Climate Corporation and advisor to several Silicon Valley, Boston, and Chicago start-ups. He draws upon 15 years of building, launching, and scaling software, hardware, and big data solutions to solve large consumer problems.

Birju's philosophy when building products is to "Trust the process.  Go to Work." Using a case based and action learning philosophy, Birju teaches the process of how to build products and companies to scale. His classes focus on: ideation, problem identification, design, usability, measurability, engineering execution, go to market, fundraising, partnerships, scale, moving the needle, and the path to profit.

Birju hopes to work with students who are eager to achieve scale and see ideas to execution either as product innovators in large organizations or as their own founder.

Welcome Professor Shah, and stay tuned for a blog post describing the new product management course in MEM!
