Work in Progress

Over the last nine months, your donations have empowered participants to transition into
285  employment opportunities with an average full time wage of $12.32 - that's $2.59 over Colorado's current minimum wage. Thank you for investing in Denver's workforce!

CWEE is getting ready to welcome an additional 250 participants, and anticipates serving an unprecedented total of 750 participants in the coming fiscal year!

A big thank you to CWEE volunteer Kara Conley for sharing your time and skills with our participants!

Read more about how Kara helps CWEE's participants get job-ready.

Congratulations to CWEE volunteer Theresa Bausch for earning Wells Fargo's Q1 Volunteer Award!

International Women's Day 2017

Miss United Nations, Trace-Ann Gooden, was spotted in CWEE's hallways on International Women's Day!

CWEE staff and participants enjoyed a potluck and reflected  on what it means to be bold. Thank you, bold women and men, for the impact you have on your communities!

Thank you to Key Bank employees Ashley, Patty, Ron, and Tom for spending time in the boutique on Key Bank's "Neighbors Make the Difference Day." CWEE's boutique runs on volunteer power!

s
What does a legacy look like?
It looks like this photo.

Welfare activist Lupe Anguiano has spent her life empowering women to become self-supporting. Her work inspired CWEE's founding in 1982.

For nearly 35 years, Laurie Harvey has perfected Lupe's model through CWEE, touching the lives of over 13,500 participants like Marpessa.

None of this would have been possible without your generous support. CWEE's donors, volunteers, employers, community partners, and champions are the engine of change for Metro Denver's workforce. Thanks to you, CWEE has thrived for 35 years, and is ready to grow for 35 more.

That's cause for celebration!

Thank you to CWEE staff, participants, and leadership who joined Laurie, Lupe, and Marpessa at CWEE's 35th Birthday Bash. See the photos!

Please plan to join CWEE at the Harvesting Opportunities event on October 5th. Together, we will celebrate our past successes and launch into a working future for Denver families  (details to follow).

Lately at CWEE...

Meet CWEE's new partners, Lianne Martin and Casey Oneslager of No Place Like Home  5280. They brought tears of joy to CWEE pa rticipant Habab last week.

You empowered Natalia to achieve her goals. Read more about how she overcame significant obstacles to earn her GED.

Your support of CWEE creates meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities for participants. This group recently took part in a special class on the legislative process, practiced civic engagement at a rally for family leave, and

Members of CWEE's Employer Advisory Council hosted an on-site job fair in April! Thank you to Scott Green of King Soopers, Kelly Specian of Randstad, and Renee Wriedt & Janice Rolfs of Sage Hospitality for bringing this amazing opportunity directly to CWEE's participants.

In addition to creating networking and employment opportunities, the EAC works hard to ensure that CWEE's career readiness curriculum remains relevant in today's workplace. Participants can feel confident in their newfound skills, and well-equipped to enter the workforce. Learn more.
