GradWeekCelebrating Graduate Studies (Grad Week) Update

We have made some headway on plans with the SGS and other faculties for Celebrating Graduate Studies (Grad Week) from February 26 - March 2. Our Grad Week webpage, the SGS webpage, and our shared registration system are now live. Please contact  Vicky Arnold  to let us know about your recruitment events as soon as possible, so that we can list them on the websites and registration system and promote them as a part of our week (Vicky will coordinate with the School of Graduate Studies about their website on your behalf).

To help us out and bring additional attention to your programs and students, could you also please encourage your current grad students to participate in and/or attend some of the FAS and SGS events on the website (e.g. student panel discussions online and on-campus, the SGS Research Showcase, Foodies on Foot)? We are also looking for volunteers for our Registration desk. Your students can contact Vicky  for more information about FAS and SGS events.

With regard to transportation, we have decided to reimburse students for up to $50 of their travel. This provides greater flexibility at a lower cost (and risk of no-shows or a bus not being full). You can inform your students about this option (it's on the registration system now). It will be first come, first serve, and limited to 50 students. The best way to take advantage is to post your event(s) and advise your students as soon as possible.

We are also still in the process of arranging for discount accommodations and meals. We will keep you posted as we finalize more details. Please contact Vicky if you have any questions in the meantime.
FasWebFAS Website Updates

See something that needs to be updated on the Arts and Science website? We're now asking that small content updates go to Kat Kopiak. For larger requests, please reach out to both Debbie Rogers and Lindsey Fair.
TelephoneSurvey of Telephone Requirements at Queen's

Queen's is planning to replace the aging telephone system.  We are using this survey to ask representatives of the various telephone user groups to validate and prioritize requirements collected through previous efforts and define any additional requirements. We anticipate that completing the survey should take you no more than 10 minutes. Please feel free to distribute the survey to any others in your area that you think should be included. The survey will be available until February 12th, 2018.  Follow this Anonymous Survey link: Telephone Requirements at Queen's Survey
SenateSenate Committee Vacancies

All existing Senate committee vacancies are listed on the  vacancies page .  The application deadline is February 9, 2018.
  • Committee terms are usually for two years, with the number of meetings per year depending on the particular committee's area of responsibility.
  • Most terms will start September 1, 2018, but any exceptions are listed next to the committee name on the vacancies page.
Senate committees discuss issues of broad interest to the academic community and make recommendations on policy and practice that are essential to the university's operations and evolution. Committee work allows members to directly affect the way Queen's functions as a teaching and research institution, and as a community of scholars, students, and staff.

Please contact  [email protected]  if you have any questions.
