YOUR LOCAL UNITED WAY IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE!



A Warmer York County   
 
Weather in South Carolina can be unpredictable.  Temperatures can swing from 30 degrees to 75 degrees in the same day.  For some residents of York County, those frigid numbers can put someone down, especially if they do not have a warm coat.  Thanks to Comporium's 4th annual Winter Warm-Up coat drive, those residents can get the coats they need.  This year's drive brought in 1,200 coats!

Thank you to our community partners that made this such a success: Comporium and CN2 for coordinating, hosting, having drop off sites at each retail location and spreading the word; Long's Cleaners voluntarily cleaned all the coats collected; CACH for collecting coats and helping on distribution day; The City of Rock Hill provided transportation of the coats and provided the Housing & Neighborhood Services office for coat distribution day.

This type of support shows how much York County cares for its neighbors and is committed to seeing everyone thrive.

Free Income Tax Assistance

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance ( VITA) program provides free income tax preparation assistance to individuals and families with a household income of $54,000 a year or less.  In addition to providing free tax preparation, VITA works to ensure everyone in the community receives all of the tax credits and deductions for which they are eligible. VITA locations.  
 
MyFreeTaxes is the only free, online, national tax filing product offered by a nonprofit, because United Way is committed to ensuing that people can easily and accurately file their taxes to receive the refunds they deserve.  If your household earned $66,000, or less in 2017 you can file both your federal and state returns for free.
