Spring 2015

Spring is the time of plans and projects..

- Leo Tolstoy

Have you noticed that the sun is a little brighter and that it stays lighter a little longer? Have you also noticed the bits of dust and cobwebs that this brighter sunlight is helping to illuminate? There is a reason that the saying 'Spring Cleaning' came about.

This spring sunshine energizes us. It helps us to come out of our winter hibernation and to revisit the projects that we planned to tackle last year. So, what projects do you have lingering - possibly started projects, perhaps half-way completed projects?

Maybe this winter has prompted you to think of a new project to start? Take advantage of the energizing spring sunshine to tackle this project.

Here are some tips to get you started or possibly to get you restarted on the way to completion of a project already in progress.
  1. Think about the end result - how do you want it to look when you're done?
  2. When do you want to be finished? Do you have a deadline?
  3. Schedule that done by date in your calendar.
  4. On a separate piece of paper, write down all the steps you can think of that will take you from the beginning of your project to being done.
  5. Think about how long each step will take to do - are there multiple steps that can be tackled in one working session. In other words, if you're giving this project an hour, how many steps can you complete in that hour?
  6. Now that you know when you want to be finished with the project, and you know what you have to do, when do you start in order to have the project completed by your done date?
  7. Schedule your start date in your calendar.
  8. Plot the steps in your calendar also - make appointments with yourself and keep them.

What about making plans? Do you have plans to travel this summer? Use this spring to solidify your plans. Figure out where you want to go, where you will stay and what you will see while you're there? Maybe you want to make an appointment with a travel agent?

Spring is a wonderful time to take advantage of the renewed energy we can feel with the advent of longer days and brighter sunshine.

I'd love to know what projects you're tackling or the plans you're making. Write me back and let me know!
