Teddy Bear Sunday

2017 Teddy Bear Sunday Video

Please bring a new (or gently used) teddy bear to church on Sunday, February 11. Teddy bears will be blessed at both services - 8:00AM, 9:30AM - after which, they will be donated to the Department of Children and Family Services. Your donated teddy bears will serve as gifts for abused or displaced children.

If you do not have a teddy bear to donate you can buy one at Christ Church! Bears are between $5-25. Thank you for your support.

Let's bring or buy lots of teddy bears Sunday the 11th to make it a special day for many needy kids!

Facing health care conversations with

clarity and confidence.

Join us to learn about the importance of making advance directives for ourselves and for the people we care for. Part 2, February 11, focuses on practical tools for starting these important conversations, whether you are 18 or 80. He will provide plenty of time for questions and conversation. The presenter is Paul Goodenough, the Chaplain Fellow at Bishop Anderson House in Chicago.

February Food Pantry

We will be collecting items for the New Trier Township Food Pantry on

Sunday. The pantry is currently in need of the following items:

* Canned Fruit

* Cookies, crackers, granola bars, nuts, raisins & other healthy snacks

* Cooking oil, salad dressing, condiments

* Soups & Chili

If you forget to grab something extra at the store this week, you can purchase items at church on Sunday. Thank you for your support of this ministry that helps ensure that all our neighbors have a full pantry at home!

Please join us at 5:30PM this Sunday, February 11 for Evensong featuring our Youth and Adult Choirs. Featured will be some beautiful music our singers are preparing for their tour to Atlanta the following weekend. After Evensong, you also would be welcome to stay for a delicious dinner upstairs in the McClain Room. We'd love to have you with us!

Women's Retreat Day: Saturday February 10--Register Now!

Christ Church's 6th annual winter women's retreat will be Saturday February 10, 2018. Women of all ages and life stages, members of any church or none, are warmly welcome. The Rev. Nadia Stefko will facilitate the retreat, with help from an amazing planning team of Christ Church women.

We'll gather at Church House from 8:00AM to 3:30PM for fellowship, reflection, stillness, and worship.

Cost: $40 per person, $42 with credit card (Scholarship help available--contact Nadia)

If you are in need of an hour of quiet prayer and meditation, please join us for a time of grace and peace. This candlelit, contemplative service will include readings, prayers, and silence interspersed with tuneful chants accompanied by oboe and keyboard.

Christ Church will be hosting our first-ever art show this spring with the theme "The Passion of Art," to celebrate God's gift of creative expression.
