On May 24, 2017 the Congressional Budget Office posted its analysis of the American Health Care Act of 2017 (H.R. 1628).

The CBO estimates that enacting the American Health Care Act would reduce federal deficits by $119 billion over the coming decade and increase the number of people who are uninsured by 23 million in 2026 relative to current law.
Eating moderate amounts of chocolate each day could cut risk of irregular heartbeat
WH
A Harvard.edu study posted 5.23.17 offers good news for chocolate lovers:

Consuming moderate amounts of chocolate was associated with significantly lower risk of being diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (AF)-a common and dangerous type of irregular heartbeat-in a large study of men and women in Denmark led by researchers at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and in Denmark.

WIM
"Our study adds to the accumulating evidence on the health benefits of moderate chocolate intake and highlights the importance of behavioral factors for potentially lowering the risk of arrhythmias," said Elizabeth Mostofsky, instructor in the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard Chan School, a postdoctoral fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and lead author of the study.
Primary Care Offers on the Rise, Including Salary and Signing Bonuses
WH
The Medicus Firm, a national physician search firm headquartered in Dallas, released its 2nd annual primary care and advanced practice placement compensation summary report May 23, 2017.

According to the report, average total compensation package offered to primary care physicians, including signing bonus, increased from $226,755 in 2015, to $257,533 in 2016. This includes family medicine physicians and internal medicine physicians in communities of all sizes, across the country.

WIM
"Primary care has become intensely competitive to the point that hospitals and physician employers are competing with one another on a national scale for physicians, not just regionally or locally," states Jim Stone, president of The Medicus Firm. "Even the most popular locales and desirable, high-profile employers may find primary care recruitment significantly challenging. This increased demand is driving up salaries, and especially signing bonuses, for internists and family medicine physicians," he concludes.
