ICS 2017-2018 Registration
Mark your calendars - ICS registration for the 2017-2018 school year is tentatively set for Wednesday, August 30th from 8:30AM - 2PM. More details will be provided in future newsletter releases.
Exchange Students
We will be again hosting 5 Exchange students from Kobe, Japan from 10/7-10/14. Parents of students of any grade level can participate. If you want to host one of the students or just participate as a volunteer in some after school sightseeing, please contact

Need Volunteer Hours this year? Great Opportunities still available!
Laptop and Textbook Return
Our ICS librarian, Ms. Simon, needs six volunteers all day on Thursday, June 22nd, to help her process laptop and textbook returns for all students. Volunteers will need to be at school from 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM (or until returns are completed). No siblings please. There is some lifting involved as laptops are placed in bins and moved around.
Planning has begun for next year's Student Summit for grades 9 - 12 which is scheduled for
September 6th-8th. The team needs 4-5 parents who can devote ~5 hrs/wk to the planning starting immediately. Volunteers are needed to for the following positions:
Co Leader to arrange Wednesday service activity & bus transportation
Co-Leader to develop Thursday and Friday speakers/agenda
Parent Leader and Co-Leader to handle logistics such as assigning classrooms, teacher assignments, organizing and cleaning up on event days, working w/ tech crew
Co-Leader to promote and market events with signs/press releases
Co-Leader to coordinate contracts/payments, forms, permission slips tracking, district compliance and organize the Summit table on registration day

Legislative Liason Needed
Are you interested in advocating for children in Washington State? Do you want to know how our PTSA community can affect local and state-wide legislation? We need a new Legislative Liaison for next year. The liaison attends district and community meetings and the yearly Legislative Assembly (October) and Focus Day (January) to keep our community involved with legislation that affects our students.
