JUNE 2017

Summer is a great time to revisit your financial plan. Now that tax season is over, there could be some important planning opportunities to consider that cannot wait until the end of the year.
  • Are there any life-changing events occurring soon such as marriage, the birth of a child, retirement, or a career change?
  • Will your income or expenses substantially increase or decrease this year?
  • Are you on track to meet your goals?

Take the time to review these questions and any others you may have with your financial advisor - it just might pay off.

ARTICLE: How Will You Build Your Retirement Savings?
You can probably envision how most of your retirement money will be spent. Much of it will be used on living expenses, health care expenses, and, perhaps, debt reduction. Beyond the basics, you will unquestionably reserve some of those dollars for grand adventures and great experiences. If your financial situation permits, you may also contribute to charity.
GET TO KNOW THE ARGI TEAM

Ben Hardigg, CFP®
Financial Advisor
Cincinnati, OH

Describe your role at ARGI in less than two sentences:   As a financial advisor, I work to educate the people I come in contact with to help them have a better quality of life.

Do you have a nickname?   Benny

Hometown:   Born in Springfield, MA, but I call Cincinnati my hometown.

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?   I've been fortunate to have had a great life so far. I've seen some friends be diagnosed and beat some serious diseases, so compared to what they've gone through I think I've had it pretty easy.

What is your favorite place to vacation?   Leland, MI. My wife introduced me and it has become our happy place.

What is your favorite hobby?   Tennis when I want to be active, and reading a good book when I want to relax.

What is the best book you have ever read?   Too many great books to choose from, but I enjoy escaping into a good sci-fi novel.

Are you involved with any charities or non-profits?   I'm a big supporter of the Cincinnati Country Day School, and various cancer research charities.

Number one thing on your bucket list?   See a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren't doing this?    I would have continued to work in the start up community. There are lots of amazing new technologies being created every day.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?    Coach an MLB baseball team.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?   Pay attention to the details.

How do you define success?   To me, success is if I have made a positive impact on the ones I come in contact with. Lots of small successes can lead to a fulfilled life.

HEALTHY HABITS
Observed each June, the National Safety Council's (NSC) National Safety Month focuses on reducing leading causes of injury and death at work, on the road and in our communities.

Along with organizations across the country, the NSC utilizes the month of June to raise awareness on what it takes to keep each other safe.
