The International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) is pleased to announce that Charles D. Johnson has been named its new president, effective August 1, 2017. Mr. Johnson will succeed Daniel K. Shipp, who retires this year after serving as the Association's president since 1993.

Global safety equipment manufacturer MSA Safety announced the election by the MSA
Board of Directors of Nishan J. Vartanian to the newly-created position of President and
Chief Operating Officer of the company.
When vision is impaired, quality of life and the ability to work experience a drastic and
unfortunate decline. Preventing eye injuries should be a top task on every safety
professional's to-do list.
Scott Safety, a global leader in innovative personal protective equipment and safety devices,
has introduced the Protégé SG, a versatile new reusable single gas monitor that is
configurable to detect 13 different gases.
The American Chemistry Council recently released updated
guidelines on preventive health measures and the use of personal protective equipment for workers exposed to
phosgene, a chemical used in manufacturing that is a poisonous gas at room temperature.
The main argument for safety is obvious - to protect workers from injury and death.
But there is a financial argument to make as well. Keeping safety programs, equipment and training in your budget can, in the long run, be the less expensive route. Studies show that
a good safety and health program can save $3 to $6 for every dollar invested.

There's a relaxation in the approach to occupational safety, and business is getting a
bigger voice, while hard-won victories for safety advocates are being reversed.
The new DEA guidance recommends expanded protections for first responders to include
also gloves, masks, eye protection, paper coveralls and shoe covers, in their kits.

From Oct.17-20, Dusseldorf will revolve around creating a safe, secure and healthy

Ontario Police say that their frontline officers will be required to wear protective equipment including a respiratory mask, safety glasses or goggles, nitrile gloves and long sleeve shirt or jacket.
Only 29 percent of women who wear personal protective equipment on the job in the United Kingdom receive PPE specifically contoured to their gender, according to a recent

from the Trades Union Congress, a UK-based federation of labor unions.
