Dear Parents and Guardians,

"...I AM THE LIVING BREAD THAT CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN; WHOEVER EATS THIS BREAD WILL LIVE FOREVER; AND THE BREAD THAT I WILL GIVE IS MY FLESH FOR THE LIFE OF THE WORLD." John 6:51

It is difficult to believe that we have arrived at the conclusion of another school year. I would like to extend my wishes to you and your family for a safe, relaxing and enjoyable summer. During the summer months, please continue to practice your faith through attendance and participation in the Liturgies and the faith community programs of your parish.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of the wonderful support that you have provided to our school during this school year. We are truly blessed to have such awesome students and parents to whom we provide our ministry of faith and academics. This school year has been very successful on a number of levels and that success is measured in the growth that we see in your children, our students. Your outstanding support of your children is a key factor in that success and we thank you, emphatically, for all that you have done, given and shared.

As we look back over the past ten months, we swell in joy for the many blessings that our Lord has bestowed upon our students, our staff and our families. Thank you to all for your support! We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable summer.

HEALTH SUITE NEWS
If you are taking your child to their primary care providers for physicals, please remember any student entering in kindergarten or the 4th grade next year needs a physical from the doctor's office.  The physical may have been conducted as early as October 2016 of last year to count for your physical for the 2017-2018 school year.  If you send in the completed physical form, it will be filed for next year.

If your child has any new immunizations, please send verification to the nurse as soon as possible.   There are New Immunization Requirements for students entering 7th grade. They need Tdap (single dose) and Meningococcal (single dose).  The immunizations required for students entering kindergarten are DtaP (4doses), Polio (3 doses), MMR (2 doses), Varicella (2 doses) and Hep B (3 doses).  These immunization requirements are from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

The end of the year is HERE. Parents must pick up any unused medication at the end of the school year.  Medication that is not collected by the parent will be discarded. If you have any questions, please contact the school nurse @ 410-208-1600.

FIP HOURS
The deadline for FIP hours for the current school year was May 31. Each family is required to fulfill 20 hours, 10 of which may be fulfilled through your parish. Letters were mailed out this week to any families who did not fulfill their 20 hours. Any hours not completed will be assessed a $20 per hour fee. Families who completed their hours will not receive a letter. Questions may be directed to Akiliah Church at [email protected].

New Family Mentoring Program for 2017-2018 School Year
We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to give their time and talent to assist us in our New Family Mentoring Program. The purpose of this program is to be able to give our new families a contact to go to if they have questions or are unsure of something. This would give our new families a comfort of knowing that we are a school community and are here to welcome them with open arms. Thank you for your willingness to help and be there for these new families to make the new school year as easy and comfortable a transition as it can be for them.
For your time and talent, we will give 10 FIP hours towards the 2017-2018 school year, which will be applied at the beginning of the 3rd trimester. For more questions about the Mentoring Program or if you would like to sign up to be a Mentor, please contact Lisa Edmunds at [email protected], or call the school office and ask for Mrs. Edmunds.

Vision Statement

Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School provides rigorous and technologically relevant instruction that is intentionally integrated with Catholic identity.  Together, as Pastors, administrators, teachers and parents, we nurture the development of the mind, the body, and the soul, in each of our students.  Our students are able to make sound decisions based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and modeled upon the lives of the saints.  As a faith and learning community, we teach students a passion for the truth and a love for discovery and knowledge. Our students are prepared to relate their Catholic faith to their culture and actively live their faith as members of the greater community.
