The attorneys of Gertsburg Law have a comprehensive understanding of the countless legal issues facing businesses on a daily basis. In order to share our knowledge with the community, we publish weekly blog articles that explain and elaborate on issues relevant to business owners. Here are some of the articles available on
our blog
this month:
There are stacks of applications for every position, and the details of every interview you conduct could cost you time and money. It's worth everyone's time to refresh on the basics of the interview to avoid complications down the road.
This is the fourth in a series of blog discussions by Mark Turner about Ohio's consumer laws. The blogs are designed to raise awareness of a part of business owner's potential pitfalls of these laws and how they can be avoided. You do not want to find yourself on the wrong side of a CSPA lawsuit
, check out Part One,
Part Two
, and
Part Three
of our series on the CSPA.
If you believe an employee is stealing from your business, it is easy to say that the most effective resolution is termination. It is a much bigger problem, however, when you suspect one of your contracted employees of theft. In that case, there are steps that must be taken to confirm your suspicions before anything else can happen.
On March 21, 2017, a new law went into effect in Ohio expanding where a person licensed to carry a concealed weapon may bring their handgun. No longer may companies have policies prohibiting a handgun from being stored in a person's private vehicle on the company property, and restrictions on bringing a handgun into institutions have been loosened.
"Audit" is a dirty word; for most, it conjures up the image of agents of a faceless bureaucracy rifling through the most intimate details of their lives. For business owners, however, audits are an important tool in identifying improvement opportunities.
