Downtown Coffee & Conversation
All downtown property and business owners, employees, and residents are invited to DPI's Coffee and Conversation on Wednesday, June 28 at 8 AM. Organized by the DPI Business Development Committee, the casual get together is designed to engage our stakeholders, foster communication, and strengthen the downtown community. We'll be meeting at The Uptown Ivy, 514 Jefferson, and hear about plans for the upcoming flood wall construction.

Revisiting A Sand County Almanac: A Turkish Perspective with Dr. Ufuk Özdag
What:
Please join us for a special program on Aldo Leopold's International renown by Turkish Scholar Dr. Ufuk Özdag of Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey, currently a visiting professor in the Environmental Studies Program, Vassar College. She translated Leopold's "A Sand County Almanac" into Turkish in 2013 and is the Founder and Director of the new Land Ethic Research Center in Ankara. Dr. Özdag's primary research interests include American environmental literature and comparative studies between literature and the visual arts. She has written several books, including Literature and the Land Ethic: Leopoldian thought in American Nature Writing. This event is sponsored by The Leopold Landscape Alliance and Friends of the Burlington Public Library. Light refreshments will be served following the program.
