Ballston Farmers Market is Back!
The Ballston FRESHFARM Market will start back up on May 1st. The market will bring a variety of local vendors to Welburn Square every Thursday from 3-7pm through the end of October. The first Thursday of every month will be our Mega Market with a beer & wine garden, celebrity chef demos with free tastings (starting in June) and a live band!
FRESHFARM Markets is excited to announce that they will be coming back for another CSA season. A Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) program allows you to purchase a share in FRESHFARM's variety of farms for a season. With your share you receive a bag of fresh produce and vegetables each week during the late spring CSA season from May 15th- July 31st and/or the early fall CSA from August 14th-October 30th. You can pick up your share bags at the Ballston FRESHFARM Market. Shares will be $25 and $35 for medium and full sized shares, respectively. A few improvements that will make this year's program even better, include a new website where you will be able to check each week for a heads-up of what you will be getting in your share as well as an archive of CSA recipes and newsletters. Volunteer at Taste of Arlington!
Join the Taste of Arlington team! Now in it's 27th year, join us to celebrate Arlington's finest food, drink and culture with proceeds of this event going to the Arlington Food Assistance Center. With an expected crowd of 25,000 people, we need a lot volunteer power to help make this event fun for everyone. We're looking for volunteers to set up for the event, assist our restaurants, serve beer and wine, run our carnival games for the kids, help out in the BarkPark and then close down the event.  For donating your time, you will receive a complimentary taste ticket booklet for 10 free tastes, a commemorative t-shirt, and of course, we expect you to have lots of fun! All volunteers will be invited to attend a training session cook-out on Thursday, May 1st from 6-7:30pm at Avery Row Apartments.

Just on the edge of Ballston is the Arlington Public Library that provides access to a wealth of information, creates connections among people and promotes reading and culture- for every Arlingtonian and beyond- you don't have to be a resident here to enjoy all the benefits! All you need to gain access to the many great resources that the library provides is to register for a free Arlington library card - you can register in-person or online. If you are starting a business, this is a great place to begin- and it's free! The library has a number of resources for you and databases full of demographic information and access business models. There are also resources that provide free downloads for mailing lists. AND, they offer free 1-on-1 business research appointments online, through Ask-A-Librarian. Most of these services are available 24/7!

Ballston based dance company, Bowen McCauley Dance presents the
5th Annual Move Me Festival on April 26th from 1-5pm at Kenmore Middle School. Move Me is a FREE family-friendly celebration of the arts and culture, serving nearly 1,000 people annually, featuring performances and artistic activities by local arts partners. The festival culminates with performances by the BMD professional company and a special performance by BMD's Kenmore Junior Company. Enjoy live music, dance, theatre, and activities for children and adults alike.
