Canada’s Forgotten War
Remembering Korea
(1950 – 1953)

- the donations received year to date were $168k compared to a budget of $174k
- the total of all income was $268k compared to a budget of $265k
- the total expenses were $274k compared to a budget of $290k
- there was a net deficit of $6k compared to a budget net deficit of $25k for this period
The reason for a less-than-expected deficit at May 31st is that the spending on previously planned capital projects and building maintenance has been minimal as we focus on the Wall repair project.

A PRAYER FOR CANADA
Friday, June 30th
7.30 pm at
Christ Church Cathedral
This "Eve of Canada Day" interfaith service is for all the people of Ottawa. It will contextualize the 150th anniversary of confederation by intentionally acknowledging the Indigenous Nations who have dwelt for millennia on the land we now share as Canada. An Algonquin spiritual leader will speak first, and the number “150+" is being used to recognise the history of the land before 1867.

SPIRITUAL BOOK
OF THE MONTH
Widely hailed as a revelation of a "lost" golden age, this history brings to vivid life the rich and thriving culture of medieval Spain where, for more than seven centuries, Muslims, Jews, and Christians lived together in an atmosphere of tolerance, and where literature, science, and the arts flourished. See the website www.tinyurl.com/StJ-Book-June for more information.
Please keep in mind that Perfect Books on Elgin Street kindly offers St John’s a 15% discount on our Book of the Month.
