Re-think what food is by seeing how perennials can add more nutrition to your diet. Learn about:
  • Appreciation for edible perennials as a summer crop
  • Ease of using edible perennials in everyday cooking
  • Chaya, longevity and Okinawa spinach, cranberry hibiscus, katuk, and waterleaf lettuce
An ample selection of plants will be available for sale afterward.
The Friends of the Library will have garden and cook books for you.

Speakers/Panelists
Cathy DeFelice & Nessie Johnson, are known locally for their teaching of growing and eating sustainable plants. Cathy, a certified permaculture designer, uses a love of gardening to create sustainable abundance through edible landscape and food forest design. Nessie, certified yoga instructor and permaculture designer, believes that connecting the mind, body, spirit, and nature allows all of us to be connected to not only to ourselves but also to our communities. Together they own The Edible Garden.
