Ekklesia Workers Partnering with United Way's "Day of Caring" to build Tiny Cottage #6

This Friday, June 23rd the United Way has asked Ekklesia to help coordinate the building of another tiny cottage for the new Kitsap Cottages project. This cottage will be built on what is called the "Day of Caring." The United Way coordinates many projects of service across America on this day. This construction of another tiny cottage will be one project among hundreds. We will do our construction at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds at the President's Hall. There is an on-line registration site for volunteers who wish to help with our project and this Friday we will have around 15 volunteers who will give of their time to build this new tiny cottage. It is #6 among more than twelve planned to be built. Following our work on Friday we will again be blessed by Leo's Towing who will move the new cottage to be temporarily stored on the parking lot of the Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church. We are moving this tiny cottage because of the possibility of vandalism if it was stored for two months at the fairgrounds. The CK Presbyterian Church has volunteered to help store the cottage until the Kitsap County Fair in August. During this time the CK Presbyterian Church has also agreed to paint the newly built cottage. What an opportunity to serve and connect with many other volunteers in our county!
