Third Sunday After Pentecost
June 25, 2017

"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar.
We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.

We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and
reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs,
hurts, joys, and interests."

Please welcome our guest musician:

Lisa Deaton

Anthem:   You Raise Me Up
Communion:   Go Light Your Candle

Lisa Deaton grew up in North Carolina singing in church and in school. She also sang on the lawn mower and in the yard and on the bus - pretty much anywhere. All that singing paid off in college, when she was cast in Godspell and other musical productions.
After moving to Georgia in 1981, she began to sing with friends and over the years, learned to play some guitar and bass and recently incorporated piano. Music has brought many gifts. Lots of friendships have led to lots of different songs, a bit of travel and some good stories.

Christian Formation
If the Resurrection did happen, there must be some difference not only in our lives, but also for the world. What is the hope when faced with  death, decay, and brokenness? How can one survive the destructive powers of this world?  The answer to this question involves a journey into the tomb and an emergence out of it.  Join us in our Christian formation time at 9:30 on Sunday mornings as we continue this eight-week focus on the Practices of Resurrected Life.
Don't forget your Traveling Butterfly!

Be sure to take a Resurrection butterfly with you as you go on your travels this summer.  Send us pictures so that we can live vicariously through you!
