Movies in the Park is back!
Located near the corner of School Street and Seminary Avenue, the outdoor flicks are being screened in the heart of Lake View. Mark your calendars for these dates:

July 14: Finding Dory
Aug. 18: Sing
The movies air at dusk, so when the sun goes down, the movie starts rolling. In addition, if it happens to rain, the movie will simply be aired one day later, same time, same place.

MINIMUM WAGE UPDATE
The $15 minimum wage as contained in SB 81
was just passed by the Illinois Senate and to Governor Rauner's desk on a partisan 30-23-2 roll call. The details are as follows:
- Proposes increasing the Illinois minimum wage on the following schedule:
January 1, 2018 - $9.00 per hour
January 1, 2019 - $10.00 per hour
January 1, 2020 - $11.25 per hour
January 1, 2021 - $13.00 per hour
January 1, 2022 - $15.00 per hour.
This wage schedule applies to (1) employees who are 18 years of age or older; and, (2) employees under 18 years of age who work more than 650 hours for the employer during any calendar year;
- Employees under 18 years of age who work less than 650 hours in any calendar year (no more than 12.5 hours per week) are to be paid as follows:
January 1, 2018 - $8.00 per hour
January 1, 2019 - $8.50 per hour
January 1, 2020 - $9.25 per hour
January 1, 2021 - $10.50 per hour
January 1, 2022 - $12.00 per hour

On Sunday we held a successful Sunday Funday Boater's Brunch at Belmont Harbor. Over 15 restaurants sampled their delicious fare to the Belmont Harbor boaters. Boaters were given goodie bags with delivery and catering menus to use throughout the summer!

BROADWAY WATER MAIN PROJECT
We are continuing to work with the Alderman's office, NPL Construction, Water Management and CDOT to help mitigate the overwhelming amount of dust and debris from the Broadway water main project as well as the increase in damages to business properties. The project will continue through the summer and we ask that you show your LOCAL LOVE by supporting small businesses on Broadway during these challenging times of construction.
