News to Note
A Quiet Sanctuary
Yearning for quiet time in our beautiful sanctuary? There is a simple way to have that time for yourself and to help the church. Have you noticed the pew pockets? They are full of information and are frequently updated. If you could set aside an hour or two a few times a year to help keep the inserts fresh, you would really be serving the church in an important way. Please consider this opportunity and contact Greg Jones at church.
A Mission That Needs You
Westminster has always cared for hungry men, women, and children in Wilmington. One way we do this is by sending money and volunteers to Emmanuel Dining Room. On the 4th of each month, a team of three prepares lunch for about 150 people. This means that there are 36 opportunities each year. Westminster is seeking someone to coordinate the schedule. This can happen from home using phone, email or SignUpGenius.com (a free online tool). Please consider this chance to serve Westminster and people in great need. If you think you are called to this ministry, please contact Greg Jones at church.
Casseroles for Andrew's Place
Can you make a casserole for Friendship House this summer? Andrew's Place, a transitional house for men, is in need of dinners this summer. They are asking for casseroles that can be delivered to Epiphany House on Union Street. The casseroles will then be put in the freezer at Epiphany House and brought to Andrew's Place as needed for meals throughout the summer months. Please call Marcy Perkins at (302) 428-0151 or Dede Johnston at (302) 658-6282 if you can help. Pictured: WPC member Sue Frost with the folks at Andrew's Place.
