A Transition Update from the Board of Trustees
Greetings Unity Family,

We hope everyone is having a wonderful we ek.  This message is an update from the Board of Trustees regarding the transition process. We intend to communicate regularly throughout this period, and it's been a few weeks since our last status.

We have to start by acknowledging the positive energy we've all felt lately. While we will certainly miss Ellen dearly, and in a sense there's just no replacing her, this is an important inflection point in our history...and we must take advantage of this unique occasion. This is a time to ask ourselves who we are, who we want to be, and what it is that we'd love! The opportunity to go through a collective visioning process, and create together our reality, is a special blessing.

We're actually very well positioned to go through such a change. There's a real sense of harmony throughout the church. We feel a vibrance from several new activities like the recent campout, as well as fresh approaches to legacy functions like fundraising. New people are showing up weekly, and we have several new families who've begun attending regularly. And we enjoy the stability of a solid financial position.

Unity Worldwide Ministries offers another huge advantage to transitioning churches, in the form of licensed Transitional Minister Consultants (TMCs). These folks are seasoned Unity ministers who are trained to assist congregations not only in the search for their right full-time minister, but in guiding the entire church through a composed, thorough process. The goal isn't just to hire the right person, but to be aligned on what we want to build together.

We're pleased to introduce our TMC, Reverend Monica Driscoll! Monica will be joining us in person for the first time on  Sunday, June 25th. She'll be delivering our message and also hosting a town hall, where we can get to know her better and hear more from her about the TMC program. Going forward, she'll be speaking on Sundays twice monthly, keeping office hours, and providing structured help for all of us.

Working with Monica the last few weeks has been a massive help to the board. In addition to being an amazing person, she's successfully guided many Unity churches through transitions like we're facing. She's fun to work with, pragmatic, and there's not much she hasn't seen. We're excited for everyone to get to know her - please plan to be present on the 25th, and thanks in advance for your participation!

When Reverend Monica's not with us on Sundays, we'll continue to hear from a variety of guest Unity speakers. Thanks to Maggie Alderman and Monica for ensuring we'll have a consistent diet of great messages.

One other important update is that our very own Gail Gonzales is leading our music program through the summer! She and the band did a tremendous job this past  Sunday, and we'll be hearing more of her as well as other familiar acts. Gail is on top of it - a steady slate of fantastic musical talent is already booked for several months.

Similar board updates will be forthcoming through the newsletter, which will be issued  to very other week soon for the summer. Please share with us anything you'd like to express by emailing  [email protected]. We deeply appreciate everyone's engagement and enthusiasm as we continue down this road together. And see you soon!
