Seabrook, TX:   J/Fest Southwest organizers in conjunction with Lakewood Yacht Club and J/Boats Southwest announce a new one-day cruising class event for the J/Fest Southwest Regatta celebrating 40 years of J/Boat history. The one-day cru i sing event will take place Saturday, October 21st.

All types of J/Boats are invited to sail two planned distance races starting near the end of the Clear Lake channel. J/Boat sailors sailing J/Boats of all types can sail for the day cruising the bay around fixed marks and our new bright green tetrahedrons and then join in with the other racers for J/Fest festivities on Saturday evening. A live band, tasty food and free beer will be on offer.

Entry is just $75, and if done before August 20th, skipper and crew will receive free tee shirts (up to 6 shirts) with their boat name on the shirt and access to lots of sailing goodies, by design or luck.

Regatta Co-Chairman commented, “J/Boats has a long tradition of cruising boats and folks who just love sailing performance on the water. We are delighted to offer this unique event to owners who would not ordinarily be sailing in a regatta like this. They will not even need a handicap rating.”

Visit www.jfestsouthwest.com to register. Crew waivers and other valuable information, including information about local accommodations are also available. Early registration deadline is August 20.
