DEA WARNS FIRST RESPONDERS OF ACCIDENTAL OVERDOSE RISK

Accidental opioid overdose is an alarming phenomenon being seen more frequently among first responders, including police officers and paramedics, which is why the US Drug Enforcement Administration
issued a warning to them this week.
Illicit fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, can be 50 to 100 times stronger than morphine. It's also 30 to 50 times more powerful than heroin. That potency is what can cause police officers or paramedics to overdose if they encounter only a small amount of the drug.

PG&E BEGINS DAILY AERIAL PATROLS TO SPOT AND SPEED WILDFIRE RESPONSE
PG&E has begun daily aerial fire detection patrols across hundreds of miles of its service area. The patrols are to assist the U.S. Forest Service, Cal Fire and local fire agencies with early fire detection and response this summer.
PG&E is launching the patrols this week due to an increase in fire danger from rising temperatures, coupled with the potential for winds. The patrols also will occur in time for the Independence Day holiday with its risk of fires sparked by illegal or misuse of "Safe and Sane" fireworks.
