Federal Abandoned Boats Funding Program     

Applications and project proposals are currently being accepted for the federal government's new $6.85 million national, five-year Abandoned Boats Program. Funding is available for the assessment and removal of small, high priority abandoned boats; as well as education, awareness and research initiatives. Read more 
Community Excellence Awards Deadline Extended      

The deadline to apply for the 2017 Community Excellence Awards
has been extended to Friday, June 30 th. The Awards are designed to profile excellence in local government and to create successful pathways and incentives for others to follow. The Awards will be presented at a breakfast at the UBCM Convention in September. 
Regional Climate Advisors      

The Community Energy Association (CEA) staff are now recognized as regional climate advisors  with FCM-ICLEI Partners for Climate Protection program (PCP). As advisors for BC and Yukon, the CEA climate advisory team will deliver tailored resources and one on one support to PCP members to help advance their commitments to climate action. Read more 
Climate and Energy Action Awards       
 
The Climate and Energy Awards recognize communities that are taking action through initiatives such as electric vehicles, building energy retrofits, and organic recycling. The Awards will be presented at the UBCM Convention this September, and winners profiled in Municipal World magazine. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 10.
