New Student Send-Offs, sponsored by alumni clubs, are held during the summer to welcome new students to the Syracuse University family. They are a great way to meet other new students, parents, and current students, and to have your last-minute questions answered!

Upcoming Deadlines and Tasks

Health Records Due July 1
As your new student prepares to join us in the fall semester, their health history and immunization record submission process will now be much easier.
Health Services has introduced a secure, confidential patient portal allowing students to complete health forms online and upload supporting documentation. The new system creates a paperless, centralized access point for students, and reduces the need for students to print, fax and email forms.
New students can access the patient portal at
suhsportal.syr.edu and use their NetID and password. Records are due to Health Services by July 1, 2017.
For questions about health forms or immunizations, email
health@syr.edu
or call 315-443-9005.

Housing Assignment and Roommate Notification
Those students who completed their housing application by June 1 should receive notification of their housing and roommate assignments on or about July 15, 2017.
Roommate
living may be new to your student, so encourage them to connect with their roommate as soon as possible to discuss not only move-in logistics but also to start building their roommate relationship.
SUID Card Photo Upload
Remind your student to upload their SUID card photo by August 1 so that their card is ready upon arrival on campus. The instructions are located here: http://bit.ly/2sPaWYn.

What to Bring List
As you begin preparing for your student's move to campus, you can review this printable list. Please make special note of the items that should not be brought to campus.
It is a good idea for your student to bring some business appropriate clothing and dress clothing with them for special events, internship interviews, etc.

|
Move-In Pass
Unless your student is here early with the sponsorship of a particular program (i.e., pre-orientation program, marching band, etc.), they should plan to move in between August 22 and 24.
New students can register for and print a Move-In Pass via their MySlice account between 12 Noon on July 19 and 12 Noon on August 1. They should register early in that window of time if there is need to move-in during a specific time slot. Click here for more details.

A Convenient and Easy Way to Ship Your Student’s Belongings to Campus
|
Families traveling long distance have a convenient alternative to transporting their student’s belongings to campus. The University works exclusively with Lazybones Storage to facilitate the early shipment of most anything that one would wish to send. Lazybones is the University’s only authorized storage company, and the only company that is permitted access to the University’s residence halls. SU and Lazybones have worked together for more than 15 years.
Items shipped to Lazybones will be delivered to students’ fall housing assignment, and placed directly in the student’s room prior to their arrival.
Families that wish to take advantage of this opportunity should open an account with Lazybones, and ensure that Lazybones receives all shipped items by August 1. For more details, visit http://www.mylazybones.com.
SU staff will work with Lazybones to coordinate the delivery of students’ belongings to their rooms. And, when it comes time to think about taking it all home with you or storing it for the summer, Lazybones also provides summer storage. They can be reached at 877-215-2105, or via email at wecare@mylazybones.com.
