Mercury Theatre Company Co-Founder and Artistic Director
Pierre-Jacques Brault and Co-Founder Brian Marshall fight for the spotlight in La Cage Aux Folles , the beloved gender-bending musical comedy, July 7-22 at Notre Dame College.

The twenty year relationship between Georges (Brault), a club-owner, and Albin (Marshall), the head drag performer, faces a test when their son announces his engagement to the daughter of ultra-conservative political parents. To please their son, Georges and Albin agree to hide their lifestyle and play it straight for a dinner with the potential in-laws. Will Albin's different definition of "normal" threaten to upend their lives?

Sharing a parallel relationship to their onstage characters, real-life couple Brault and Marshall have been theatrical collaborators now for 19 and a half years (but who's counting!). Together, they have produced, directed and performed in over 220 productions, and only broken up during 6.

With an iconic score by Jerry Herman (Hello, Dolly!, Mame) featuring "I Am What I Am" and "The Best of Times", and a hilarious book by Harvey Fierstein (Newsies, Kinky Boots), La Cage Aux Folles is a fabulously fun musical about family, asking each of us to love who you are. Mercury Theatre Company's La Cage Aux Folles runs July 7-22, 2017, in the Regina Auditorium at Notre Dame College. Rated PG
