Update to How You Connect

Our church is moving to a new kind of church record keeping solution called RealmĀ®. It primarily serves the administrative needs of our staff, but it also offers some exciting opportunities to support the way you are involved in our church. Not only will this improve work life for our ministry staff, it will make it easier for our church family to connect with each other, keep up with what's going on, and grow as a connected community of believers.  Realm will replace "MyHHBC" and "Church Life App".  Realm can be accessed from your desktop or your phone via the Realm Connect App.  Be watching for more information and your invitation!

Easter will be celebrated at Hays Hills Campus this year!

We will celebrate Easter 2018 ( April 1on our Hays Hills campus  using our regular Sunday morning schedule .
(The Performing Arts Center has decided they want Easter  Sunday off which we can't argue with.)  Several hundreds of guests from across north Hays County will be  here.   We will present the gospel in our worship and message.

We need all ushers, greeters, extreme greeters, pray-ers on duty.

We need many volunteers to make sure our children's program goes well.  We are looking at having children's worship for both 9:30 and 10:45 services, and perhaps divided by age-groups, so we will need a lot of help!

Discipleship and Education
By David Sweet

Single car accident
On Saturday February 10 some of us were gathered to prepare for our Drive Through Prayer (we hadn't even put signs out yet) when we heard a loud cracking noise and saw power lines across the street and down the hill from our church on 1626, come down.  It was a single car accident.  We called 911 and ran to try to help, but the man was deceased.  We gathered to pray for his family.  It reminded us of the tenuous hold we have on life.

Just in recent months, several suicides of former Hays students and also of adults that many of us knew, have hit us.  There is just no way to know the level of hurt in a one life.

The Church is a rescue operation.  Drive Through Prayer is a rescue operation, where the church gets out from behind walls and shows it's face to those driving by and offers prayer and the gospel.

The effect on people is quite amazing.  Most of the drivers who come by our Drive Through Prayer honk or wave or give us a thumbs up.  But some hurting people pull in.  Some have received the gospel as far as we could tell, and some continue to attend our church more than a year later!

We need families to come out and smile and wave and hold a sign saying "Free Prayer."  All ages are needed.  You can stand safely up above the highway in our parking lot.  There's even some element of witness, answer to prayer and love, just in doing this simple thing!  I can't explain it.  Join us this Saturday at 10:30 AM.

If you ever were to make a public stand for anything, wouldn't it be for the glorious, eternal gospel?

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: I need a couple of folks to keep our kids worship coloring and Bible game sheets and crayons updated each month.  (For parents who have their grade-school or younger kids with them in worship.)  david@hayshills.com  Thanks!

PRAY for elders: Aaron Kahler, Art Rendon and Eric Patterson as they are in India/Nepal encouraging and teaching pastors and visiting believers and others.
CLC News
by Mitzi Hudgins

What a fun day CLC had yesterday with a visit from Mr. Mike with Austin Reptile Shows!  The children were able to see different types of reptiles up close and learned some very interesting facts about them!  We had some very brave children!

The Christian Learning Center will begin  registration on  February 27  for the 2018-2019 school year for our currently enrolled students.  Beginning  March 20  all remaining openings will be offered to children on our waiting list and the general public.  We would love to have your child be a part of our CLC Family!  You may stop by the CLC office to pick up registration forms, or you may download them from our website at  www.hayshillsclc.org .  If you would like to schedule a tour of the school or would like to receive further information regarding enrollment, please contact Kristine Dannheim at  512-213-1571  or  kristine@hayshills.com .    May you be blessed this week!
Children's Ministry News
by David Sweet

Shelley McDaid has served as our Interim Children's Minister for the past ten months and was a top candidate for the permanent position.  She's done an excellent job!

After a long search process and bringing the top four candidates (including Shelley) to Hays Hills to lead children's worship and meet with the team, the search team has concluded its search.  With the approval of the elders, the team is bringing another candidate to the church in view of a call in March.  That means, the candidate will come to meet the church formerly and speak to the church, do a Q & A, and then the will church vote.  We'll say more about that candidate in the weeks to come.

Earlier this week Shelley gave us her two-weeks notice with the interim position she holds so that she and Mark can get some needed rest, seek God's next steps, and not to be a distraction when the candidate for the permanent position comes in March.  (If you've ever been in a leadership position like hers you know how people habitually look to you for direction in that area even when you aren't doing it anymore!)  We understand her need to take this break; she has worked hard in a part-time position.

I am letting you know so that you can express your appreciation to her and to Mark by email or text or letter. (Maybe not so much in person as she attempts to lead these two weeks-as you can understand her emotions from her love for our kids.)  Mark is unofficially our deacon to kids through his helping Shelley, and by leading our RA's and GA's.  Mark and Shelley McDaid, 939 W. Bartlett Dr. Buda, Texas, 78610

For all the Bible Life teachers and AWANA workers and children's worship helpers that we so appreciate and depend on, please direct any questions pertaining to children's ministry in March to me or Aaron (who returns to the office March 8) Our hope is to have the next Children's Minister in place by April.

Thanks    David Sweet

Student Ministry
by Greg Burney

Student ministry at Hays Hills is going strong! We feel blessed as God continues to bring us
students who need to hear the Gospel!

We have had a great month of February as we have studied the book of Job and also looked at what the Bible teaches us about purity. Our high school group had a great turn out for our super bowl party and our junior high had a good showing for our Evo day.

We are continuing to seek God's will for the direction of HHSM moving forward. We truly believe in the power of the Gospel to transform students' lives and we want to try to be diverse in our attempts to bring the Gospel to as many students as possible. God continues to show us His goodness
and we know He is at work! Thanks for all your prayer and support! Our adult leadership team is amazing. Please pray for them regularly.

Below you will find some important upcoming dates for HHSM:
March 4 th - HHSM Lunch Fundraiser after church
March 12-16 - Super Sports!
March 18-29 - High school bible study!

Pray for the health of our team and for them to clear customs without issue. Pray for our church to take joy in being used by God as a part of something bigger than ourselves for the sake of the glory of God.
