ConocoPhillips helps preserve Louisiana's coast

ConocoPhilips recently launched a pilot project aimed at restoring and protecting Louisiana's coastline. The initiative is focused on planting black mangroves to defend the coast from wetland erosion and hurricane surge.

Scott Angelle praises Louisiana BSEE employees

Director of the Federal Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Scott Angelle recently met with local staff to remind them of the organization's unique mission to develop standards and regulations to enhance operational safety and environmental protection for the exploration and development of offshore oil and natural gas.

"When people ask you what you do, you should answer with these three truths: I help fuel America and I help provide resources for our country's economic security in a safe and environmentally responsible manner," said Angelle.

Legislative  Update

The Chesapeake Group is hired  by the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber  of Commerce to lobby in Baton Rouge  on behalf of the business community  in our region.
Our Lobbyist, Eric Sunstrom, has provided us with updates throughout the current Louisiana legislative session. This is the final report on the special session that was called to finish up the budget.
 
Last week we saw tragedy in Washington, D.C. when Steve Scalise (LA-1) was shot while the republican baseball team practiced for the 108th game between between Congressional Democrats and Republicans.  We here at The Chesapeake Group wish Congressman Scalise a speedy recovery.

On a happier note we also would like to wish the LSU Fightin' Tigers Good Luck in Omaha for their 18th College World Series appearance.
