The DEIS will be out on June 8, one week later than we had anticipated. We had originally planned to release on June 1st and we understand that many of you are very interested in seeing it. We apologize for the delay and want to assure you that the DEIS will still have a full 45-day comment period. That means the comment period will end July 23rd. Some good news is that were able to incorporate some of your comments already into the preparation of the EIS and we have a short video that explains the EIS process so we are hoping that those of you who are unfamiliar with the EIS process might take a minute to engage with us.
We will send a press release with links for the DEIS when it is released on June 8. A Public Hearing date will also be announced at that time.
What happens to your comments
We have recently wrapped up 5 regional open houses where we talked with hundreds of community members. We have gathered many comments, notes and emails throughout the year that we are now organizing and reviewing in anticipation of making changes to maps over the summer.
We will be releasing an MHA Community Feedback Summary soon where those views have been captured.
Don't forget, you can participate in the HALA conversation
online. The online conversation shows a group of ideas and lets you comment, agree or disagree with them. It also lets you see what other folks in your community have said, allowing for a civil dialogue with many points of view.
CELEBRATING OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Watch our new video
Draft maps for neighborhoods: Please tell us your thoughts on MHA proposed zoning changes.
Comment period ends June 30.
We have released DRAFT maps for your review. Extensive community outreach has brought constructive ideas and local knowledge to the process of developing principles and those principles are reflected in draft proposed zoning changes.
We know that zoning and land use can be wonky. We also know that Seattleites are up to the challenge and care about getting more affordable housing in our city. For those of you not yet land use experts, we have created a video that will help you make sense of the maps and guide your feedback.
We want to hear from you! Join the online conversation at hala.consider.it or join us at one of our upcoming open houses.
