Sidewalk Safety
- Keep scanning for vehicles as you cross.
- Make eye contact with the driver before crossing in front of a vehicle.
- Hold your hand up or do whatever it takes to make yourself more visible to drivers.
- Be sure to wear proper fitting shoes when walking.
- Do not text and walk! Pay attention to the sidewalks and spot any cracks or uneven pavement to prevent falls. Some sidewalks may be lifted in areas where tree roots grow. Be sure to use caution and awareness when walking.
- Avoid walking in the dark and during bad weather such as rain or fog.
- Listen for the engine noises of backing vehicles when you're near a driveway or crossing mid-block between cars.

Eastern Glass Lizard

One never knows what's hiding beneath a rotting log or loose stone. I've made a habit of turning over such "cover objects" ever since I was a kid, and have often been rewarded by finding toads, snakes, scorpions, beetles, mice, shrews, salamanders, and even bats. But last week, in Lake George State Forest near Barberville, I was surprised to find something I've never seen beneath a log, and furthermore it was guarding 7 eggs!

Summer is here and so is our weekend poolside service!
The Cafe will be serving food and drinks every weekend from
11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Please note, on Chill by the Grill event
days, the menu will be different and include
poolside entertainment.
Friendly Reminders
  • Clubhouse Pool: Residents and/or guests, please remember to use to pool entrance when coming to enjoy the pool or spa. Swimsuits are not to be worn inside of the clubhouse without a cover-up and all clothing must be dry. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Thursdays Oil Painting with Gary Sisco will resume in September.
Fitness Updates
  • Friday's Low Impact Aerobics 11:30 a.m. class has been cancelled for June 23rd.
  • Kathy will have subs covering her classes through June 23rd.

Travel Club Steering Committee Opening(s)

The travel club steering committee is seeking others who would like to serve on the steering committee.  Carol Bledsoe will be stepping down beginning 2018 and we need "new blood" to keep the club moving forward in the future.  Cindy Roberts will take over in 2018 and Mike Dungan will also continue serving on the steering committee.

Resident Potluck
At our last Potluck Dinner, all attendees voted to have the Potluck Dinner during the summer.   However, due to the lack of enrollment, we will not have Potluck for the months of June, July, & August.

Looking forward to seeing everyone after the summer.
