Kindergarten is around the corner for some of our students!  In order to help the transition into kindergarten, we would like to introduce you to the Kindergarten teachers at both Regina Coeli and Most Blessed Sacrament.  Each teacher will also have some advice on ways to best prepare for kindergarten.  Please read about one of our teachers below!
Hello! My name is Mrs. Anne Hankenhof, and I have been blessed to be part of the Regina Coeli School Family for the past 34 years.  I attended the University of Toledo, where I received a Bachelor's degree in both Elementary and Special Education.   I am married and have 3 grown children, who I am proud to say all graduated from Regina Coeli!
Teaching has been, and continues to be, my passion and a joy like no other! Each day brings new discoveries and challenges.   I am thankful for the opportunity to work in a nurturing, loving environment where my students can learn and begin to develop a deep sense of faith.

Getting ready for Kindergarten at home

  • Practice blending sounds into words. Ask, "Can you guess what this word is?     m-o-p." Hold each sound longer than normal.
  • Sing songs, read rhyming books, and say silly tongue twisters. These help kids become sensitive to the sounds in words.
  • Ask your child to talk about his day at school. Encourage him/her to explain something they did or about a game he/she played during recess.
  • Connect what your child reads with what happens in life. If reading a book about animals, relate it to your last trip to the zoo.

Guess who is coming to visit?

Bishop Thomas will be coming to visit our school on March 16th!  We are so honored to plan for this visit.  Bishop Thomas will arrive in the morning and tour the building, visiting each classroom.  He plans on staying for about an hour.  This is also the day when we will have Irish dancers visit for St. Patrick's Day.  Please note above, the schedule change for the day!  The faculty has been invited to meet and have lunch with the Bishop.  We are all very excited to show him our school and spend some time getting to know him.

Congratulations to Jaelee on the birth of her sister

We are asking for dessert donations and volunteers to help with the fish fry events being held in the Siena Center.  Each classroom is assigned a fish fry to support if at all possible.  Feel free to help during other weeks as well!  Desserts may be dropped off at the office on Friday.  Sheet cakes, cheese cakes, pies and other desserts are collected each week to donate to the event which is sponsored by the St. Catherine Holy Name Society.  The Holy Name Society has been wonderful in supporting the school!  They purchased new cots for us this year!  Thank you Holy Name!
