6 Things Employers Should Know 
About Ohio's New Medical Marijuana Law

With the passage of  House Bill 523 in 2016, Ohio effectively became the 25 th state to legalize medical marijuana.  While some continue to debate the efficacy of medical marijuana, what is no longer up for debate is the fact that HB 523 became effective September 8, 2016 and that by the end of September 2018, eligible patients will begin to receive state ID/patient registry cards. Abruzzino Backs Air Base at State Hearing
VITO ABRUZZINO recently testified at a state legislative committee hearing in support of the Youngstown Air Reserve Station and other military investments in the region. Abruzzino, director of the Eastern Ohio Military Affairs Commission, joined the air base commander, local business leaders and representatives from Youngstown State and Kent State universities at the June 9 hearing organized at the base by Senator Sean O'Brien of the Ohio General Assembly's Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee. Meanwhile, Abruzzino was recently elected to the board of Junior Achievement of the Mahoning Valley.

HHM Supports Streetscape in Youngstown

PAUL DUTTON and his wife, Sallie Tod Dutton, were among the more than 800 volunteers who participated in Youngstown Streetscape 2017 early this month. Organized by Youngstown Cityscape, the event included flower-planting and beautification efforts in downtown Youngstown and other parts of the city. HHM has been among the event's sponsors for 10 years.
