Detentions/Suspensions:
The last regularly schedule Thursday school detention will be on June 8. If a student earns demerits that result in a detention after June 8, that detention will be served on exam make-up day, June 14.
Students who accumulate demerits that warrant a suspension after May 15 will be required to serve the suspension time on June 14, 15, and 16. Written notification of the suspension will be provided to the student and parents.
Final detentions and suspensions must be served before the student will be allowed to return to school in September; for those not returning to CCHS, these obligations must be fulfilled before clearance from the Student Affairs Office is provided.
Study Hall:
Study Hall will not be available on June 6th, 2017. All students must leave the building at the end of the school day.
NHS Study Nights:
The NHS is hosting an exam study night for all students on June 7th and 8th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the Information Commons. Tutors will be available to assist students who are struggling in specific subject areas. Please have your student take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Exams are scheduled for June 9, 12th and 13th. The exam makeup day is June 14th.
Uniforms:
Any students who have uniform items they can no longer use are asked to please donate them to the uniform exchange. We are in need of the sweaters and kilts.
2016-2017 Student Directory:
If you wish to opt-out of the 2017-2018 Student Directory or need to update your contact information, please complete the form and return it to the Student Affairs Office by July 15. The office will automatically update your child's grade. The Class of 2017 will be deleted from the directory.

SENIOR APPLICATION BOOTCAMP
The Camden Catholic High School Guidance Office is pleased to introduce our Senior Application Bootcamp July 31st - August 3rd. This camp works with rising seniors as they begin the college admissions process. Students will understand the full scope of college admissions, complete the Common Application, discover how to stand out in a college essay, plan and prioritize the senior year as well as get professional feedback on the college essay.

USED BASEBALL EQUIPMENT COLLECTION
SATURDAY, JUNE 24, 9-2
The South Jersey Men's Baseball League is collecting used baseball, softball and playground equipment and donating it to the North Camden Little League in cooperation with Urban Promise. The North Camden Little League has an organization of 800 plus children up to the age of 18. Collection day for this program will be Saturday June 24th at Camden Catholic High School (parking lot behind the school near the baseball field) 9 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information please contact Lou Marshall at 856-266-7916. Interested in volunteering your time with children this summer? Join us at the SUMMER CAMP VOLUNTEER FAIRon Friday, June 9th from 5pm - 7pm at the Kroc Center. ON THE SPOT INTERVIEWSwill be held for Kroc Krew teen volunteers ages 14-18. If you are at least 16 years of age, we will also be interviewing for Summer Food volunteers who will serve breakfast or lunch to campers.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help:
GRACE is dedicated to providing empowering, experiential, and educational programs for preteen girls 9-11 years old, primarily from the Camden area. Our programs are uniquely designed to promote positive identity formation, character development, and civic responsibility through community service.
GRACE presents an enriching opportunity for Camden Catholic High School volunteers to make a difference in their community through their involvement and interaction with the GRACE girls.
GRACE is seeking high school aged volunteers to assist with our Summer 2017 Program, however full-time volunteers are always welcome!
The program dates are August 14th to 25th, Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM

Your Voice Matters to the Future of Catholic School Students

South Jersey Catholic Schools Lead the Way
As of April 28, families in the Diocese of Camden have contacted New Jersey legislators more than all other dioceses combined, using the link to

With the final budget determination due in June, there is still work to be done. May is a critical month for reaching out to legislators about funding for non-public school students in New Jersey. If you've made your voice heard, thank you. If you haven't, Voter Voice makes it easy for you to contact legislators via email.
An even more effective way to be heard is to reach out directly, via phone or email, to local legislators who are involved with the budget. (See "What can you do?" below.)
Invite others to speak out
Do you have parents, friends or extended family members living in New Jersey? What about your neighbors? Share the Voter Voice link and ask them to request equitable allocation of funds to provide basic services for all students. Take it a step further and ask them to contact key legislators directly. Remind them that every Catholic school student saves taxpayers an average $19,000, the cost to educate a child in a New Jersey public school.
Below is a re-posting of the issues and ways you can help.
Did you know?
- Governor Christie has proposed flat or reduced funding for non-public school students in the 2017-18 school year. The final budget will be approved in late June.
- In his plan, the per-student allotment for bus transportation will remain $884 - an amount that has not changed in 10 years.
- Funding for school nurses and technology will be reduced, and funding for non-public school security will be eliminated altogether.
What can you do?
- Be informed. For more information, read the Action Alert and talking points from the New Jersey Catholic Conference.
- Be heard. Through Voter Voice, ask your representatives to reach out to their counterparts who serve on the Budget and Appropriations committees.

Voter Voice, you can also reach out directly to the three individuals who will make budget recommendations. Urge them to fight for our school
students:

Now is the time when committee representatives are preparing to make recommendations for the final budget vote in June.
Now is the time to fight for fair distribution of funds for expenses that affect children at all schools. Public school students never have to leave a school because they can't get a bus ride. This is the most important issue on the table, even for families who don't need busing services. Our schools cannot thrive if students are unable to get there.
Remember, every Catholic school student saves taxpayers an average $19,000.
Our children deserve basic services no matter where they go to school. On behalf of your children, and all Catholic school children, thank you for making sure your voice is heard.

Congratulations to all of our Irish Track runners who competed in the S
ectional Finals on Friday.
The Girls 4 by 400 meter relay team of Kadijah Nurudeen, Kim Powers, Sierra DiCupe', and Holly Bednarek finished in 6th place.
and
Matt Coffey finished in 7th place in the 1600 meter run.
Both are Meet of Champions qualifiers!
